analox, my hat goes off to you! Bob Dylan is famous for poetic lyrics. There are many books on this. Never thought of this song as an anti-war song. I thought it was about the indefiniteness and sometimes misery of life and live life is, and how cruel/ignorant people sometimes toward their fellows. But it makes sense as an anti-war song. BTW, first time I heard this song was by Jenny, singing NAKED in Forrest Gump.

Bài của Bob nghe đậm chất country nhểy. Nghe PPM đang hay, thế mà nghe BD xong lại thấy PPM hát điệu vật.

Quite surprised that 3 of my friends knew this song from the movie “Forrest Gump” ! In fact, there are so many famous songs used in the movie that once I tried to list them all (but not complete, some of them I didn’t even know the name).

hihi, I wanna confess the same thing. I was attracted to this song from the movie Forrest Gump (though I were not interested in the naked scene like u two). and yes, the first and foremost impression was the poetic lyric (especially 2 first sentences in it). actually, the remain of the movie in my mind could be folded within this song, as I’ve put somewhere in my blog (can’t remember really). Maybe because it’s an anti-war song, it’s been chosen to put in this movie, as Forrest Gump is about anti-war too.

Never thought of this as a war song either. However, the last two sentences: “The answer … is blowing in the wind” seem to be more appropriate in the war context rather than the philosophy/indefiniteness of life; because in the war, people cannot control their own fates, as well as the stopping of cannon balls or the number of deaths. An interesting view, another hat bows off to Axon 😛 .
