The Glory Of Love

Giận
“The Glory Of Love” – Peggy Lee

You’ve got to give a little, take a little
And let your poor heart break a little
That’s the story of, that’s the glory of love

You’ve got to laugh a little, cry a little
[Incomprehensible] the clouds roll by a little
That’s the story of, that’s the glory of love

As long as there’s the two of us
We’ve got the world and all it’s charms
And when the world is through with us
We’ve got each other’s arms

Midnight jazzy

Home alone. Tungsten warm light. Silence at midnight. Slightly cold weather due to the rain few hours ago. My perfect ambiance for jazz…

Discovered Karrin Allyson yesterday. First love with “Everything must change”.

There are not many things in life
You can be sure of
Except rain comes from the clouds
Sun lights up the sky
And hummingbirds do fly…

Found her voice and music so lovely & enjoyable!

Hope you feel the same 🙂

2009

Hmm, the year is coming to its end and I still feel not ready for 2010. Come what may, you can’t stop the time…
For me, 2009 is a year to be thankful for. So many helps from family, friends and from… above that saying ‘thank you’ would never be enough. As usual, some items in my resolutions for 2009 have been achieved, some have not. Hah, you should know that getting married was initially not in my list :D. Finishing our run of 10km is also the thing that I’m proud of in this year, considered my history of back-pain and laziness :)).
Now my memory goes back to Offenbach, Paris and Rome…
Well, the train is still moving…
Wish you a year 2010 with full of happiness, growth and peace!

The other side

… of when photography becomes an obsession

  1. Hours spent on editing photos rather being with someone :(. Start to dislike this habit, but we can’t send friends RAW files also.
  2. Hours spent on explaining about why I keep buying new gears. Those are expensive, you know.
  3. Less time to do… other very important but less fun stuff, like research, arg…

@some point, you need to find a balance. Well, I’m trying…

Updates

Just some quick updates to clean dust on my blog

  • Big news: I got married & finally all of our wedding parties are over. Love this saying from my friend: “The man who’s brave enough to go thru 4 weddings with the same bride :P”, haha
  • I’m already back to Singapore after 2 months in Offenbach, Germany. Having great time over there 🙂
  • My wife & I had been to Germany, France & Italy in September. A trip with many “up and down” experience =))
  • We create this blog to share our photos and thoughts in photography. Flickr did a really good job in this, but its default size of 500px is not what we want :D. Please pay http://a2nh.blogspot.com/ a visit & hope you like it 🙂
  • Last but not least, I’m currently bizi to catch up with my work. Big delay in the progress. Hmm…

Dust cleaned.

13 August 09

The sky was beautifully blue during my first week here.

My special model - Love her hair :))

Now it’s cloudy and dark. Sometimes the rain comes, like this afternoon. I was pretty cold when going to the bus stop and suddenly feel like being far away from… everything.

I miss the blue sky.

And miss someone a lot…

Calling you

1st day in Offenbach

I arrived Frankfurt early in the morning (7am?). No one received me at the airport. Took cab to the hotel in Offenbach.

Resting for few hours, I went out, looking for foods, supermarket, bus to the company, train station, etc…

Walking out of the hotel

Friedhofstraße

I thought this is the wrong path and turned away, but the bus stop is just near there 🙁

Colors

And this is the wrong way, but I thought the bus stop is on this road. Walked for 30′ I guess.

Lines

Luckily, German guy helped me out. Problems were solved in 10′, including buying my prepaid sim card. Here is the center area of Offenbach, where I can find internet cafe, supermarket, etc…

Shading 101

Hmm… due to limited internet access, have to blog quick. Bye bye, haha =))

4 August 09

I went back to the hotel with “clouds over my head”. Not much progress in my work for days and many things need to be planned and prepared.

I’ve been in Germany for a week. My normal day starts with cooking breakfast at 7am, doing exercise in my room, then going to the institute by bus. After a day of work, I get back to the room at about 6h45pm, cooking my dinner (again), then eating, washing dishes and… watching Friends or TV as I have no Internet in my room. It’s pretty boring, for sure. Offenbach seems to be a small city, so quiet and so peaceful that you will find streets are already empty after 9h30pm.

Somehow today I want to break this routine. I set up light. Find the angle and put camera on the tripod. Must say that my room here is nice (hmm… very nice, for two people, I wish). Have some fun. Here are the results.

Man at work =))

Man at work =))
In the end, I have my dinner at 11hpm and go to sleep at 2h on the next day. But I feel good and that’s all I need for now.
