“After a while”

… Nice poem from Veronica A. Shoffstall (I’ve read it from this site). Just like another “food for thought”…

“After a While”

After a while you learn
the subtle difference between
holding a hand and chaining a soul
and you learn
that love doesn’t mean leaning
and company doesn’t always mean security.
And you begin to learn
that kisses aren’t contracts
and presents aren’t promises
and you begin to accept your defeats
with your head up and your eyes ahead
with the grace of woman, not the grief of a child
and you learn
to build all your roads on today
because tomorrow’s ground is
too uncertain for plans
and futures have a way of falling down
in mid-flight.
After a while you learn
that even sunshine burns
if you get too much
so you plant your own garden
and decorate your own soul
instead of waiting for someone
to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure
you really are strong
you really do have worth
and you learn
and you learn
with every goodbye, you learn…

food for thought…

Here are just some quotes I take from the book “It’s not how good you are, it’s how good you want to be” (quite a long name huh :-?) by Paul Arden. It’s really nice book (yup, best-selling book as usual): brief, concise but thoughtful… If you are interested in, you’d better borrow it and enjoy reading :). Worth ur time!!!
Let us think…

Without having a goal, it’s difficult to score

If you like soccer, let just image of a match with 22 players and a field with no goal… Funny, rite?

Talent helps, but it won’t take you as far as ambition

For those who still struggle for their examination, lecture…

What you learn at school are facts, known facts

Here are some to think about being good or being failed…

It’s probably ok. But then it’s probably not great either

Blame no one but yourself

General…

Avoid knocking the competition. It usually serves to publicise them rather than you

Don’t promise what you can’t deliver

… Trust is hard to be built but easy to collapse

Give him what he wants and he may well give you what you want

A simple art of negotiation huh?

It can’t be judged by description. It needs to be done (made) to exist

It = your idea :D. So keep the faith just do whatever to prove your thought…

If you can’t solve a problem, it’s because you’re playing by the rules

I really like this one, it sounds weird at first but becomes true after you think about it !!! Agrr, how to think “out of the box”, sigh…

The perosn who doesn’t make mistakes is unlikely to make anything

Hey, perfectism guys (like me…), it’s time to think about this…

It’s wrong to be right

It’s right to be wrong

Hmm, I preferred to say “It’s wrong to always be right”

High creativity is responding to situations without critical thought (playfulness)

Instead of giving people the benefit of your wit and wisdom (words), try painting them a picture

Every HOWTO book about presentation said, but you may forget to “paint your speech”…

If everything seems under control you’re not going fast enough (Mario Andretti)

End of this topic… I fell sleepy now, it’s 1am now.
Hope tomorrow is a good day for all…! Hey, sorry, “great day” instead 😉

Ethics…

I got a lesson today about Ethics- in personal matters, business and life… It brought me many aspects from a single decision: legal ethical, personal views of ethics. Ethics is so subjective hard to tell it right or wrong in many cases. After the 3-hour class, I went out and felt confused about my point of view in several matters. When it comes to discussion with others, you may realize how strong your opinion is… Yup, talking is still good, isn’t it?
